DOOH – not DOH! – at the Digital Signage Expo

Hopefully you are reading this on a mobile device at the airport, because you are on your way to the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas. And hopefully you are on your way to the Digital Signage Expo to hear me speak in a seminar (specifically, Digital Out of Home and the Changing Media Landscape: The Ad Agency Perspective for Success). If not, then you are really missing out.

Digital Signage Expo (DSE) is the world’s largest and longest running international trade show and conference dedicated to digital signage, interactive technologies and digital out-of-home (DOOH) networks. This year it is being held February 26 – 28 at the convention center in Las Vegas. The theme this year is “Innovation Inspires” and attendees are invited to embrace new ideas, challenge existing precepts, embolden their vision of the future and see how the newest technologies can capture customer attention to help their business succeed.

“Creative inspiration is what drives innovation with advancements in technology that move business forward. DSE is the premier show in this industry because it not only provides a first-hand look at the newest technologies, but at the same time attendees have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends, improve their proficiency and network with other professionals,” said Richard Lebovitz, Educational and Editorial Director for Exponation LLC, which produces DSE.

Close to 180 exhibitors feature technology and services including hardware, software, network delivery and content from around the globe. DSE also offers the largest and most diversified digital signage and digital out-of-home educational program anywhere in the world, with more than 100 educators and the largest variety of educational opportunities, including a live installation tour and structured curriculum leading to professional re-certififcation in eight educational tracks.

Attendees will be able to attend 32 general conference seminars targeting clearly defined audiences and hear an outstanding faculty of peer professionals and industry specialists make presentations relevant to the digital signage and digital out-of-home marketplace. I may be biased, but I think the most important seminar will be seminar number “S2” on Wednesday 27 February. I’ll be presenting with Amy Vollet, VP Director of Media from the Integer Group. Dramatic changes in digital advertising options are changing the models that agencies use to measure success. This presentation will provide insight, from an advertising agency perspective, on where digital out-of-home (DOOH) fits into an overall media plan and how new models predict successful return-on-investment (ROI). This information is designed to help DOOH network operators better prepare to do business with agencies and the brands they represent.

DSE ‘s New Product Pavilion also features the newest, most cutting edge technology in the digital signage, interactive technologies and digital out-of-home media industry. Attenees will have the opportunit yo see dozens of new and innovative products first-hand. Chris Gibbs, President of ExpoNation, LLC, the producer of Digital Signage Expo said, “Creativity, innovation and growth continue to be hallmarks of our industry and nowhere is that more apparent than on the DSE 2013 trade show floor and in DSE’s New Product Pavilion Showcase.

It’s probably too late for this year, but just in case you happen to be in the Las Vegas area, register to see all the newest technology in person, or to attend any of the educational programs at DSE, many of which are eligible for Digital Signage Expert Group (DSEG) certification or renewal credits, go to www.digitalsignageexpo.net.
